About Junior Sports
Multi-Sport’s Junior Sports and Physical Education
Programme has been our signature programme now for over
22 years. It is enormously popular because children
who are exposed to a variety of skills and sports are
able to identify the sports they excel in. Children
receive a thorough grounding in Physical Education.
The guiding aim of our programme is to develop as many
positive attitudes towards physical activity as possible
so that an active and healthy lifestyle is continued
throughout life.
In our Junior Sports programme children have the unique
opportunity in Hong Kong to receive coaching in gymnastics,
athletics and ball games. The programme includes our
Fit for Fun syllabus that has revolutionized that way
sport is introduced to ages 3 – 12. Pre-school
children (Age 4) receive 45 minutes of coaching covering
gymnastic exercise for strength, co-ordination and agility
as well as practicing skills and games, learning co-operation,
running, jumping, throwing and catching. These fun classes
are an excellent preparatory course for sports and school.
Children learn to listen and follow instructions with
activities they enjoy.
During athletics older children are coached in all
aspects of track and field including starts, sprints,
hurdling, throwing events and long jump to name a few.
Our Fit for Fun programme is incorporated to increase
stamina and conditioning in a fun and exciting manner.
During ball games, skills and modified games are practiced
gradually introducing the rules and tactics, which apply
to adult games such as netball, hockey, football and
cricket.
During gymnastics floor work, tumbling and vaulting
are covered in, as well as partner work. There is an
emphasis on fun while learning.
Children who have come through our junior sports programme
are well prepared for sports played at secondary level
and usually excel.
