About
Futsal
Known as Five a Side, Indoor Soccer, The Great Skill
Developer
Futsal is the only FIFA approved five-a-side soccer
game. It is played on a basketball style court, with
no walls and a low bouncing ball, necessitating players
to use their skill rather than the balls bounce to propel
it. Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Denilson,
Zico and Ronaldo grew up playing the game and attribute
Futsal with developing their silky skills. The game
is eulogised for the number of stars footballers it
has nurtured. Futsal is played by an estimated 25 million
players throughout the world and is soon to be an Olympic
sport.
Multi-Sport Ltd. and Soccer 365 are affiliated to the
Hong Kong Futsal Association with the mission to promote
Futsal in all sectors of society in the HKSAR. Multi-Sport
Ltd. has been credited with being the first soccer company
to bring Futsal coaching to the youth of Hong Kong.
The rapid increase in soccer skills is accelerated
after only a few lessons. Just by playing with the reduced
size and weighted ball develops precise ball control,
pin point passing, peripheral vision, agility, lightening
reflexes and quick decision-making. As the ball tends
to stay closer to the feet players are able to quickly
master the skills of their hero’s such as the
shimmy step over, the drag scissors, or the double step
over. The Hong Kong Futsal Association organises regular
tournaments throughout Hong Kong. All staff have their
Hong Kong Futsal Association’s level one referee’s
certificate.

Benefits
of Futsal
Because the sport is a great skill developer, demanding
quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin point passing,
it is an exciting game for children as well as adults.
The game is very economical and safe, simple and fun
to play. Just by playing with the ball develops precise
ball control and technical skill, agility, lightening
reflexes and decision making. As the balls have less
bounce they tend to stay in play longer and promote
close ball control. After playing in enclosed areas
and learning to think and react quickly, players find
when they play to the full game they react well under
pressure. Ever notice how the World Cup winning Brazilians
cope with short quick passes with ease and flair? Playing
in enclosed areas develops creativity; players are also
constantly placed in demanding decision making situations
in enclosed areas which is a major reason why Futsal
is one of the finest teachers of the quick pass and
move. In football it is very hard to defend against
a team that is adept at this type of play. Playing beautiful
football is developed through Futsal.
Slide tackles and excessive bodily contact is forbidden
in the modified game, which results in fewer injuries.
It’s no surprise that the game is popular with
children, teenagers and adults of both genders and is
growing in popularity internationally.
Our Junior Futsal programmes quickly develop skills
required for soccer: - balance, motor ability, agility
and co-ordination, ball mastery, accurate and quick
passing and receiving, perception insight and awareness.
Children learn through repetition and practice in small
areas this occurs naturally. As Futsal is fast and action
packed, fitness is improved while learning and having
fun.
We find children love playing Futsal. It is exciting,
many goals are scored and the game is devoid of complex
rules such as off side. Children learn so much faster
if they enjoy the game and spend a lot of time playing
with the ball. Our trials and observations suggest that
ball mastery is evident in only a few lessons, which
could otherwise take weeks playing conventional soccer.
We have found after testing many balls the best ball
for coaching juniors is the Select Jinga Junior which
is perfectly weighted and sized.
The
Hong Kong Futsal Association Mission

to every school and to the reach of under privileged
youth in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Futsal Association organises three main
